Chinese Taipei takes a lead in reducing APEC food losses

Action plans on reducing food losses have been integrated in the APEC 2020 Roadmap on Food Security. Chinese Taipei timely initiated a multi-year project on food-losses reduction through Public-Private Partnership. This project has been approved by APEC in June 2013. In the 2013 APEC seminar on reducing food losses, the issue of post-harvest losses (PHL) has been broadly acknowledged as the crucial topic of discussion. To reduce PHL, Chinese Taipei proposed several actions, including food loss assessment, tool kit, dataset, etc. In addition to preliminary results shown in the seminar, Chinese Taipei also proposed the follow-up strategies to improve food security in the APEC region.
